Sad Farewell to an Old Colleague

Annette Cardona, also known as Annette Charles, who played Cha Cha Gregorio in the film Grease, passed away Wednesday August 3 at the age of 63 after a short battle with cancer. I first met Annette 30 years ago in a workshop taught by renowned acting coach/director Jose Quintero. When I saw her a couple of years ago at the Ahmanson at the opening of the revival tour of A Chorus Line, we reminisced about how lucky we were to have had such a truly wonderful teacher as Quintero, a rare human being in today's world, who truly cared about his students and their progress in the art of acting. Annette was tall, beautiful, a dedicated artist and a warm human being I will never forget. I am so very sad at her passing. Godspeed!
